The Impact of the 4th Industrial Revolution on the Role of the Actuary

Actuartech, in collaboration with the Society for Actuarial Students, are pleased to present a webinar on how today's changing technological climate is impacting the role of the actuary on 2 December 2021, at 08:00 GMT.

This webinar focusses on the changes faced by actuaries in the 4th Industrial Revolution, how actuaries can adapt their toolkit to meet these challenges in a fast-moving world, and what the future of the actuarial profession is.

We aim to inform attendees of the changes in technology that may be impacting the way actuaries perform their work. We offer ideas for future upskilling, areas of anticipated change, and discuss how actuarial skills are already being applied in fields outside of traditional insurance work.

Topics we will discuss include:

  • Findings from a research study on the role of the actuary in the 4th Industrial Revolution
  • Fundamentals of DevOps and the importance of understanding these techniques
  • The actuarial toolkit

This event can count towards your IFoA CPD requirement if you consider that you have learned something relevant to your current or future actuarial work or professional development, that it addresses a personal development need and has an identifiable learning outcome.
